TRYBE Hair Care is a salon professional brand made to advance inclusion for all medium to high textured hair - not just curls.
TRYBE was inspired by our Founder's grandmother - Mildred Carter. A New Orleans native, she become a stylist in the early 1980s as a way to provide for her family. Her in-home salon served as a place for women of the community to laugh, share stories, and support each other. Ryan Terrell, Founder, grew up in that salon. TRYBE is a dedication to the influences and experiences created from being raised by a strong, authentic, and fearless stylist.
Our name is the combination of the words "TRY" and "BE". We hope to inspire that everyone to always try and be the best versions of themselves in everything that they do in life. Simply, we are here as a physical reminder to intentionally and purposefully live your best life. We believe that life is meant to be lived UNAPOLOGETICALLY BOLD.
Our mark is called Mpuannum, an African adinkra symbol meaning "the five tufts of hair". It was traditionally worn by the tribal beauticians of West Africa - repesenting joy, loyalty, devotion, faithfulness, and adroitness. We use this symbol as our mark because it has and always will represents the stylists and salon professionals our products are made for.
